A backseat cover protects upholstery from hair, damp paws, and everyday debris. It does not secure an animal in a moving vehicle.
Measure the vehicle
Check seat width, headrest spacing, seat depth, and the position of the buckle openings. Confirm that the cover cannot interfere with doors or airbags.
Keep buckles accessible
Locate every opening after installation. Do not cut new holes or route a restraint through fabric that blocks the manufacturer’s intended path.
Use separate safety equipment
Choose a crash-tested carrier or vehicle restraint suitable for your pet and vehicle, and follow its instructions. The cover and the restraint do different jobs.
Test without the pet first
Install the cover, close every door, move the seat through its normal range, and confirm that straps remain clear of moving parts.
Inspect before each trip
Check cover anchors, headrest straps, buckles, and the separate restraint. Stop and reset anything that shifts or blocks access.
